Checking in - code share
Hi,
This may be a really dumb question. I am flying Dublin->London Heathrow->Vancouver on one ticket - All booked with BA. However, the first leg from Dublin is on an Aer Lingus plane with a BA code share flight number. Can I check in online for the whole journey (both legs) at one time? I assume I would need to wait until 24 hours before the London->Vancouver flight time for this to be open for check in? Would I check in on the BA website or the Aer Lingus website? Thanks |
You check in with the carrier operating the first flight.

I sometime find on codeshare through flights you can only check in for BA sectors 24 hours before the BA flights depart and you check in with each carrier.
if on an all BA itinerary I find you can check in for all sectors 24 hrs before initial booking. |

Thank you. Will this allow me to check in for both flights? Or will I need to check in again later on for the second flight? Or do I need to wait until 24 hours before the second flight to check in?
You should be able to check in and get BPs for both flights at the Aer Lingus desk in Dublin. If you're struggling to check into the BA flight there, there's also a BA check in desk open most/all of the day which should be able to help. |
