As ever with these menus, a thoroughly humiliating ‘cocktail’ list - spirit + mixer doth not a cocktail make.

Wetherspoons literally has a better cocktail list than this..

BA 5 ( and BA 7) LHR - HND Tokyo 1/11

Service not the best, one FA was excellent, other could not advise on wines or menu, got drink orders wrong or forgotten altogether despite reminders, no water offer with meal, cutlery forgotten, no after dinner drink offer and admitted not FC trained. Also there were 40 pax whose bags did not travel with them on the flight (all classes inc the lady sat across from me and guy behind) so lots of unhappy travellers.

Drinks menu same as #619 above.

Chicken was tasty and moist but skin not crispy (the FA decided to pour the sauce over when serving) the apple tart had a nice crispy base and was not overly sweet but needed caramelisation like a proper tart tatin and Mr STFD said the beef, yes it really looked that bad, was OK but more suited to WT or WT+

That beef is shocking. FT rules preclude me from saying what it looks like. Suffice it to say 'appetising' is not the word.

BA 174 JFK-LHR
I flew this earlier this week. The menu is as above in post #623 and also applies to BA 112,116,172 and as mentioned above 176. It was a nice flight and had an enthusiastic and friendly crew working in First. The welcome was good and the PDB and snacks both fine. The crew forgot about the Amuse bouche so I needed to remind them about that and had it after my soup. The soup was very nice and the amuse bouche better than my last one ex the USA. I enjoyed the salmon a lot and was able to fit in some ice cream before having a snooze. Given the limitations of a short overnight journey I enjoyed the flight.

The word I was thinking of, I imagine you can't polish it...

I had the Donnafugata dessert wine for the first time on LHR-BAH this week (having overlooked it on a couple of recent trips).

If you like sweet wines and you haven’t tried it yet but get the chance, DO! It is lovely. I’ve ordered myself a case of it.

I just received the menu from YouFirst for SFO-LHR in Nov25 and it is the same for anyone interested. That pasta dish made me think "Mac n Cheese". Looked good. So why the complicated description that doesn't translate such that a typical brain would understand the actual dish (cauliflower not withstanding).
Cheers,
-Cyborg
