Manage my booking - message about baggage on connecting flight

Hello,

What does this message in Manage my Booking and on the e-ticket mean, it's a connecting flight? Do I have to do something different to the luggage as I believe it goes all the way through?

"Very important information
If you do not check your bags through to your final destination, you may incur multiple and/or additional baggage charges."

Thanks

Does it now say "incur"? If you search FT for the word "incure", you'll find lots of posts about the previous (mis)spelling of that word in this message - click here and then click the "Search Now" button. :)

If you intend to take both the flights as booked, with the bags checked through, then you can safely ignore this message. It's only there for people who deliberately choose to have their bags short-checked.

Funny the e-ticket says "incure" and MMB says "incur"!
Yes we definitely want the bags at our final destination and intend to take both flights so I don't want them to go missing! Do I just ask them to label them for the final destination also at check in?

You shouldn't need to ask: if you're booked as a connection, then the default position should be that the bags are through-checked to the final destination.

As always, it's worth checking the bag tag receipt before you leave the counter to make sure that the flights and dates are correct (although I would be the first person to admit that I don't consistently do this myself). If the bag tags are correct, then the overwhelming chances are that the bags will fly with you as planned.

Many thanks, I read the other threads so I understand the message now. I'm worrying about the luggage so I will definitely check the destination etc is correct.
