Flights booked by my parents CC

Hi

So I'm travelling YYC-LHR via DFW on Y/WT+. I was looking to UUA to CW for my DFW-LHR segment, and I see that there is availability however I can't do it on MMA and had to call in. When I call in the lady said that as this was booked on my mom's credit card, they have to talk to her and not me. Is this true? If so is there anything I can do? Realistically speaking, she is out of town and can't really call in to BA.

PS: Please don't bash me for having my parents pay for my flights, I am poor lowly medical student as such I have no savings of my own.

It's not an unusual request, in these days of data protection, etc. There will be extra charges and presumably these are to go on your mother's card. Have you trid to call back and offer to pay them on you own card?

Uhhh NVM....I just called in again and got a different person who went ahead and did it no questions asked. Didn't bother to mention the first lady. The tax difference was about $250 though, pretty steep...And yes I just paid with my own card.

There you go, everyone's happy.

Particularly your mother, if you are a "normal" student and still "on the payroll" ;) :D

My parents cringe every time I have to talk to them about tuition. Alas my LOC can only cover so much, international fee's for medical students and living in London....doesn't work well for the wallet. I admit I'm not "normal" either.

Don't worry, you will be normal for somewhere!!

... for medical research you can now look up "NFN" ;);)

Meanwhile, enjoy the flight and the CW experience and TP's :D

Don't worry - once you're a doctor, all BA doors will open to you, fees will be waived, staff will genuflect...and if this doesn't happen, feel free to start an indignant thread! ;)

Let's see where the healthcare system is by the time I finish post-graduate training!

But be prepared, once you are a doctor, BA might not call you one! :D

Ahaha honestly speaking, outside of a professional setting I wouldn't want to be called a doctor. Spend 100 hours a week working as a doctor is enough IMO. Though I will be changed my CC name to Dr AbuAK the day I graduate.
