GRU airport status and Brazil Air Travel
 

Here goes:

Arrrived GRU on Jan 24th...since I was in BE on DL, I got to the immigration ahead of everyone in my plane, but there were other already there, and there were only 2 people working...it was 8am...so by 9am, more officers showed up and things moved smoothly.

Go to baggage claim and saw the biggest clusterf*** of my life...be prepared for utter and total chaos...line to go thru green channel is approx 400 people long with about 2500 people in baggage claim area...but the staff was helpful and spoke english...so that helped...

Once you get out, if you have a connecting flight on TAM thru the domestic airport, TAM offers free shuttle service to the airport, which is a great idea. I wish some other airlines would offer this. I landed at 8:10am and caught my 12:20pm flight from the domestic.

Internal flights are ok for now....Carnival is a whole different story....

Delays are approx 30-45min due to weather so do not plan any tight connections. It is now rainy season, so just be careful and leave plenty of time in between flights....

Leaving GRU was not a problem a all...

Sounds like a typical day at GRU :D
