Antigen test - unsupervised?
Hi all
I'm travelling to Brazil in a couple of weeks and wondered whether anyone knew if an unsupervised antigen test (with a fit to fly certificate) is sufficient for Brazil's current testing requirements? I've checked Brazil's official, and ominously named, "ordinance no. 666" and it doesn't seem to specify. Nor does the UK government advice, the IATA website, or existing posts on TA and FT that I have found. Has anyone used an unsupervised home test to enter? Qured seem to offer this as the standard fit-to-fly antigen test except for the US, where a video call is required, but not sure whether to rely on that. Thanks, A |
“Ordinance 666 ANNEX I
TESTING PARAMETERS … 1. The RT-PCR laboratory test or antigen test with report must be performed in a laboratory recognized by the health authority of the country of origin;” |
So it would seem to mean that teletests are allowed as long as provided by a certified lab?
|
The text says that the test must be performed “em laboratório”=> “in a laboratory”, implying a place, and not “por laboratório”=>”by a laboratory”.
|
The truth of the matter is the person checking the piece of paper doesn’t really care where it was performed, looks at it for a few seconds only to find a word that looks like “negative” on it and maybe checks the date then goes on to the next person. Nobody is checking to see what lab or whatever it was performed at.

Unsupervised antigen fit to fly
Hi, have you managed to enter Brazil with an unsupervised antigen test (fit to fly)? Thanks
|
I have traveled between the US and Brazil several times during the pandemic. In my experience, one will first be asked to show test results when checking in for their flight to Brazil. This includes the domestic portion if making a connection. I would check with the airline one is using to see how they interpret the rules/policy regarding Covid testing, as if you don't abide by their requirements, they will not let you board.

I used the Qured fit to fly supervised tests to fly into Brazil and come back to the USA in February. Gate agent on my domestic portion just made sure the test said negative and was done within 24 hours. Used Verifly and uploaded the test results on the way back home.
I wouldn’t risk it with an unsupervised test. |
