connection time

We have a united flight from EWR getting in at GRU @ 10:40am on Nov 22nd, connecting flight to GIG @ 12:05 pm
I don't know if that is enough time to make the connecting flight.
Should I be worried or make other arrangements

That is tight. We’ve missed a connection with an hour and a half once. You have to clear immigration in SP and that time really varies from 15 min to over and hour. Then you have to recheck bags which can also suck. I guess it depends on the schedule. If the next flight isn’t until 4 I would risk it but if there is a 1 or 2 then I would try for that.

It could be dicey. Sounds like you will be on UA149. Flightrader24 indicates the average flight time is 9 hours, which is a good bit less that the scheduled time. So if your flight leaves on time or close to it, you likely would have more time for your connection. Of course, there is always a chance things can go south (no pun intended). Last nights flight departed at 10:10pm, 30 minutes late, but is due at 10:05am, 35 minutes early. Also, what domestic airline are you connecting to? If Azul, that requires a terminal change at GRU. There is a recheck area after exiting Customs. I normally see the Latam area quite busy, GOL and Azul not so much.

Usually the immigration line isn't terrible, but landing at 10:40, getting off the plane, clearing immigration and then making your way from T3 to T2 with around 1 hour, you better be sitting by the door on your UA flight and hope they don't park at the end of the T3 pier like they love doing.

I've been refused boarding in Brazil with less than 1 hour before departure.

That is tight............the big factor is the immigration line obviously, and then navigating the terminals.
