Delta check in counter hours at GIG
 

I have a upcoming nine hour layover at GIG. I am coming in from Florianopolis on a separate ticket and then leaving that evening on the Delta flight to Atlanta. Was hoping to check my bags in with Delta as soon as I arrive and then proceed through security to the lounge as I will be flying business class. Any idea if the Delta check-in counters will be open that far before the flight? If not, would any of their partners be able to check my bags? And last question, if I cannot check bags for several hours, is there a lounge accessible before security?

Not sure about when check in would be open. You could always try Gol international as they are DL partners. If you're flying on Gol from Florianopolis you could try to check your bags through with them.

If that fails, there is a Plaza Premium Lounge pre-security at level 2 (VIP Parking) which is accessible for R$85. Never been to the domestic lounge, but it looks like they have showers, etc.

The latter is only available in Portuguese, but if you click on Plaza Premium Lounge a pop up will appear with the lounge options (international, or pre-security domestic)
