Domestic to International connection - BSB
 

Hello again, Brazil forum. I am wondering about connections in BSB. I can get two award tickets SDU-BSB on GOL, connecting to BSB to MIA on TAM. The GOL flight lands at 0904; TAM departs at 1047. Do-able? Might I be able to check my luggage through at SDU?

BSB is a small airport. However, I have had the worst experiences with bagage claim there. We're talkin >1 hour.

GOL and TAM are not in the same alliances, so it's unlikely you'll get to check the luggage all the way.

You need to check in for the international flight 2 hours in advance, so you will be cutting it very, very close.

Do GOL and TAM Have no interline baggage agreement? Any way to check in for the international flight in Rio?

1) What happens if you miss your TAM flight? Gol not likely to help.
2) What are your other options in terms of times. I'd want more time. Possible?

The BSB to MIA flight is the best I am likely to find back to the States during the day. There is an earlier flight, SDU to BSB on Avianca Brasil, but it is during the Olympics, and they have jacked the price up to $400 from the usual $50.
