Positive Experience with lounge access at GIG

Just wanted to share a positive experience for *A Gold members at GIG. I was booked on a LAN/TAM codeshare on LAN metal from GIG to SCL with a LAN ticket and surprisingly was allowed lounge access with my United *A Gold card at GIG to the VIP lounge. Didn't really expect this given that I was flying on oneworld metal and don't hold oneworld status, but it was very refreshing to see the lounge (or at least the agent) who let me in, taking a more flexible stance given the recent LAN/TAM merger and the ambiguity between the alliance allegiance.

Thanks for sharing. I'll do the very same route in February.
How was the lounge experience ?

If the OP is talking about the GOL SMILES lounge (former Varig lounge) in Terminal 2, it is used by a number of airlines, including UA. And GOL operates out of Terminal 1, so not usable by them.
