Reviving an old thread - I'll be going to IGU on 14th evening. I have one day there to see the falls (15th) and have a flight back at 6:00 PM to GRU. I really would like to do the boat tour but would like to skip the safari.... almost all the tours I saw online include the safari.

Does anyone know of a tour company that'll help book just the boat tour (pick up from hotel early, take us to the falls, boat tour plus walk the falls, and back latest by 3 PM)?

Thanks a lot!

My advice would be to DIY rather than taking a tour. It's much nicer to walk the falls at your own pace. Since you'll be on the Brazil ide, if you have time, I'd recommend the Bird Park that's just outside the entrance to the park.

Also, it's expensive, but staying in the hotel within the park gives you early and late day access to the walk to the falls. It would be a way to maximize what you can do from the Brazil side and minimize the hassles. The hotel has a tour desk if you feel the need to have them book the boat ticket for you or the concierge can help.

The colleague I am with wants this on a budget - so $400+ night hotel won't sit well with him :-(.

I have half mind to book it when I get to my hotel, but worry that early morning boat rides may get booked up. I want to make sure we get on the first or second boat. I just can't seem to figure out how to do it :-(

Does your hotel have a concierge? If so, try asking by email, or phone since your trip is soon.

When I was there, quite a while ago, the "safari" part of the Macuco Safari was sitting on a little tram on the path from the main road to the boat dock on the river. The driver pointed out some plants along the way. About midway, there was a stop to walk through the jungle on a small oath to a waterfall, iirc, and then reboard and continue on to the dock.
