Mid-summer bmi board drinks: LONDON, Thursday July 30th 2009

Following on from such great threads as Right, who wants a drink? Manchesterand Right, who wants another drink? Belfast I reckon it's time a for a few more (less than quiet?) pints in the great city of London, once again. BA types welcome also!

As is traditional, people are encouraged to bring along any GUVs, coupons or airline tat they'd like to give away or swap for beer!

Venue: Glasshouse Stores, 55 Brewer Street, W1F 9UN

Time: Nominally 6.30 p.m. but whenever

@:-) The basement has proven itself to be very convenient for us all to find each other on past occasions... so if it's open, let's try to cluster there?

A quick review of the pub is available here - and from this useful directions are given from the Tube:
  • Piccadilly Circus: Take the Tower Records exit and cross Regent Street (you should see the giant billboards across the street). Turn left into Glasshouse Street , then right into Sherwood Street. Turn right again into Brewer Street and the pub is about 50 meters up on the right.
  • Leicester Square: Take the Leicester Square exit from the tube and go through Leicester Square and past the Swiss Centre. Cross Wardour Street and take the next right into Rupert Street. Cross Shaftesbury Avenue and carry on until you reach Brewer Street and turn left. The pub is a few metres down on the left.

Of course a handy Google map for printing is perhaps easier for some. Click here - let no one say they couldn't find it.

Please place in that dreaded stand by list ... Will have to see if I can escape... and how I'm going to get home from it (as I'll probably have to go on the greatest of travel evils... coach )

Each to their own.

That's next door - look to the right - wooden front with Glasshouse Stores written above the window.

Indeed. ^

Thought it worth pointing out just in case it gave some the wrong impression. Would love to make one of these Dos some day. (the pub one not the dress shop one).

Wouldn't it be nice if BD were to sponsor this event and turn it into a gold card holders party. They seem to have forgotten to hold them recently. Perhaps SMB could make a gesture and put £1k behind the bar, first come first served, just swipe a blue plus, silver or gold card to receive a free packet of Walkers crisps too.

"I'm sorry sir, although there is a £1k tab, I'm afraid that no beer has been loaded today" Meanwhile, can I get a cheese toastie instead of a packet of crisps?

Just sending my apologies in advance. Sadly I'm off to IAD the day after, so won't be able to make it.

Have a fun evening y'all.

I too will be coming back from Mokum, on the 112 on the Thursday (scheduled to land at approx 19.15). I shall, however, check the social diary in the custody of she who must be obeyed, otherwise known as Mrs. 20-Horse, in the hope that there is nothing else on, which means I could chance the LHR express and hope that you will still be arguing over meal deal components at the hour I might get to the venue. It would be a pleasure to meet you all.

I shall keep you posted, and in the meantime, please put me down as a possible.

All the best

20-Horse, back in Amsterdam after a week in the Scillys.
