BMI Codeshare with Lufthansa

After a while of not flying, I'm now flying between Heathrow and Dusseldorf most weeks.

I've just started to see my airmiles come through on my Diamond Club account.
For a BMI booked flight (S Fare Basis), with a BD flight number I'm only getting
300 airmiles each way. The flight is operated by Lufthansa.

I'd expected a lot more.
On the BMI website for non UK domestic flights of less that 800 miles it says
I should get 800 x1.5 for S fare Basis giving a total of 1200 each way.

I read somewhere on this site that for some code share flights you are awarded airmiles as per the operators miles schedule.
I popped over to Lufthansa's site and it says for a M basis fare (which is what my boarding pass says) between Dusseldorf and LHR I should be getting 750 points each way.

Is this a known issue? Is there anything I can do? I rang the ICC a few times but they just didn't understand.

The miles you earn are dependant on the carrier you are flying with and not the booking airline. Your ticket is a codeshare with BD, however the actual flight is operated by LH.

It seems that the booking class S on BD maps over to M class on LH.

Look up the BD earning table for Lufthansa operated flights, and M class earns x0.5 miles, hence you earn 300 miles.

OK, except the actual distance is only about 300miles so that calculation doesn't work.
It seems ridiculous that 101 pounds on babybmi gets me 900 points
1 night in a 4 star hotel @ 100 euro gets me 750 points

but this flight at a cost of 450 pounds yeilds only 300 points

A couple of years ago I would fly LHR to Dublin on restricted business and get 1600 points each way, and the ticket was cheaper.

There seems to be no consistancy.

LH puts a giant M on all economy boarding passes; your fare basis is S.

There is an anomaly here - S fares on bmi are quite hight (as they earn x1.5 on bmi operated flights). S, however, appears as earning at x0.5 on LH flights - even though in this case it is a quite expensive fare...

My inclination is to contact Diamond Club, our resident bmi lurker here on FT and explain the anomaly and see if things can be changed.

Otherwise, I'd be inclined to credit the fare to another programme - Miles & More for example.

All flights of less than 600 miles earn a base 600 miles. Hence 600 miles x0.5 = 300 miles.

Is there any info to show how BD codes map onto LH codes for an LH operated flight? I am wary of getting a cheap(ish) ticket and lose out by falling into one of the LH non-earning fare classes...

I'm actually interested in the reverse mapping. In other words does anyone know how an LH codeshare maps when operated by bmi metal. I'm particularly interested in class M. The cheapest BD seat on the same flight is actually in the same class but I'm not sure if this is a coincidence. I need the LH code however as its part of a more complex multitrip ticket. Grateful for any help.

PS: Interested in class B too!
