Quickie

Hi guys

2 quick questions (and i have trawled through the enlightening stickies-though possibly rather too quickly) and they are to do with 2 X class redemption tickets :LHR-PMI.Can i assume both passengers get lounge access (as per conventional Star* practice )on redemption bookings and can i also assume only one pax (companion has no status)will get the free inflight scoff ?

muchas gracias ...

Quick answer = yes, yes.

Both passengers will get (or not get..) lounge access based on their status on departure day or be guested by the gold member, no ticket-based lounge access for economy redemption tix.

Loved the enlightening thread title by the way - certainly made me click.

+1. I thought it was a new award type - and wondered how many miles they want for it, if you can only book it at specific airports, and so on.

I thought it was yet another service offered in the new No1 Heathrow International Non-Domestic Definitely Not Dublin Lounge - in between the dinner service and the showers...

er......

just an addendum here. 'Yes' only applies to the LHR lounge.

The PMI lounge is a contract lounge, where the policy is :

Diamond Club Gold card members - no guest
Diamond Club Silver card members - no guest
bmi Business Class passengers - plus 1 guest
Economy Flexible shorthaul only and YBMI/BM tickets - no guest
Star Alliance Gold card holders - no guest
Star Alliance 1st passengers - no guest
Star Alliance Business Class passengers - no guest

and since BD don't do Business Class on the PMI route anymore, the only "+1 guest" option is now off the menu.

The PMI lounge is indeed third-party and run by Aena. It is nothing to write home about, so the OP is missing nothing IMHO.

The inflight "scoff" isn't particularly scoffable either so I would recommend a good go at the No 1 Heathrow lounge on the outbound but the OP will just have to slum it with the (other) tattooed trash in the terminal on the inbound ;)
