wrong miles credited?

Can anyone explain this:

I recently flew standard economy LHR to DME but was credited 396 distance and membership miles, less than the miles I got from BHD to LHR. I expected 1 x miles for the route but it looks like I have been give 0.25%.
Is there a logical reason for this?

Thanks

What fare code was the LHR-DME sector?

Booking code G, T, N or E, perhaps?

Not sure that qualifies as "logical", but it's the most likely explanation.

Some of the economy (promo) fares only earn 0.25x to DME.

Did you check the fare code when you booked? That'll be the only way to know if there was an error in posting.

DME is 'Rest of the World' therefore 25% or 100% for economy.

in fact, according to the latest earning table, no fares earn 0.5x for the 'rest of the world'

g,t,n,e earn 0.25x
b,k,m,h,q,v,w earn 1.0x

It was EOW
I flew economStar y to LAX a few months ago and got 1 x miles. I guess that must've been a different class.
Hopefully my Round the World trip later this year will get me 1 x on all the routes!

Then your miles are correct.

That will depend on which carriers your flights are on and which fare bucket they use for RTW bookings. Most, if not all, of them use higher fare bucket buckets, like M or H, for economy RTW fares. Check out the Star Alliance forum for details.

Hope is not the tool of choice here, especially when so many miles are involved -- a RTW in the right fare bucket will do wonders for both status and destination miles, so be sure what you're buying.
