Former bmi destinations and routes

With last night's end of flights to Leeds Bradford, Durham Tees Valley and Jersey – some of them after decades of service – the list of former destinations is getting as long as the roll-call of current routes. And arguably more interesting, too.

There was a Belfast Aldergrove to Jersey Service which operated for many summer seasons with the Fokker 70s and 100s. Also Aldergrove (and later Belfast City) to East Midlands operated with Saab 340s and then Embraer jets before the route moved back to Aldergrove, operated by bmibaby.

According to this shot on A.net, there was also a LHR-ZRH service in the mid 90s: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Briti...-0100)/0992966

Thank you. I'd also forgotten about East Mids routes that have gone (gone to Baby, I know, but gone altogether as far as we are concerned!)

You can add MAN-DUS as well, it went in the LH "All your Germany routes are belong to us" Star Alliance merger.

Mind you adding - MAN-<Anywhere> to the list seems to becoming the reality

Ken.

Willard the Bear - But, but, how am I going to start my trips if there are no more flights from MAN. "please sir, can we move to LON ?" - No! - Ken.

Indeed.

You would think some of these Brussels routes such as ABZ might become viable again given what LH is planning for Brussels Airlines and its arrival in Star. Good mix of long-haul destinations from BRU that would otherwise involve LHR or BA.

Are you sure Knock - LBA was not
Cork, Ireland (ORK) - Leeds Bradford, UK (LBA) ?
Served by bmiRegional ERJ's.

You're right. It was the march of the left-footers from Glasgow that inspired Knock, not LBA.

Has LBA-ORK gone as well?

Yep.

But the bmi route planning executive committee continues to meet as normal.

ajamieson... that picture indicates that there's planning

I thought they used the FA Cup tombola machine to help decide route pairs?

You can pick over the 1990's here and this decade, to 2007, here

Looking around in webarchive you find, in 2000, London Stansted was in the booking engine. I don't remember what that was about. Anyone?
