Do BD redemption date changes allows require a new e-ticket number?

In my experience, the answer is allways is yes with the BD system. But BD says "no."

I changed the date on a redemption booking consisting of a single LX flight. Do I need a new ticket number?

I have been able to make date changes on other airlines without getting the ticket reissued. Does this ever happen with BD redemptions?

I changed the LHR-ZRH leg of a LHR-ZRH-JFK ticket this morning and checkmytrip shows the new flight details with the same ticket number.

I called LX to select seats and they too confirmed that the ticket number remains the same.

I have only had a new ticket number where there are major changes. A previous trip, LGA-BOS-(ZRH)-LHR was changed to JFK-(ZRH)-LHR and that triggered a new ticket number

In my experience, when BD did not issue a new ticket number when they needed to, checkmytrip.com showed the new flight changes as confirmed. Checkmytrip.com continued to show the old E-ticket number. About two days before the flight departure, the reservation was cancelled by the airline to be flown, due to lack of ticketing. This has happend to me more than once.

Has anyone flown tickets where they made date changes and checkmytrip never showed a second ticket number?

Save perhaps in the case of changes to the first sector, date/time changes do not require a ticket re-issue. The e-ticket just needs to be revalidated.

Route changes require ticket re-issue.

checkmytrip will be no help in telling you whether the e-ticket has been revalidated properly, but usually that doesn't matter because a date/time change won't cause too many problems at the airport to get sorted. Re-routes do.

Even on changes that don't involve a change to the first coupon of the eticket/ticket and may even be just date changes, best practice is to call the operating airline and make sure it all looks good to them.

This is not the experience I have had recently whereby both time and flight no. schedule changes by USAirways resulted in the need to have new e-tix issued. The same e-tix number was not re-validated but new ones were issued. This happened on 3 seperate occasions since the original ticketed.

On two occasions ICC told me that new tickets were not required only for me to call back the following day to be told they were in the queue to be re-ticketed.

Checkmytrip.com now shows a second ticket number. So the agent saying a new ticket was not required meant nothing - as is usually the case.

I've changed class booking (same flights same dates) on LH and SQ's tickets and each time e-tickets have been re-issued.

There are different booking class's on BMI redemptions? or did you change cabin? that may require a tax change which I presume would need to be re-ticketed.

It was cabin's change (C-->F) : taxes were the same as fuel surcharge is always the same and as route's origine wasn't UK (APD tax). Only more miles and cash (and 20£ change fee + 4£ credit card fee).
