BMI to Yerevan
My first posting on this site.
I am flying Y to Yerevan shortly and wonder whether anyone has experienced this cabin's service on this new BD route. I have travelled with BMED a few times in J, but never in Y. Any idea what I can expect? I don't think there is OLCI, but are there "good" seats? As a Gold card holder with er, someone else, I can use their premium check in and lounge, but am not sure whether I will be able to do so in EVN. Thank you.:) |
A very warm welcome to bmi on Flyertalk :)
I can't yet speak to the cabin service on the former BMED routes, but my suggestion would be to send a PM to diamond club requesting a status match. As part of your new membership pack you'll get gold card upgrade vouchers which you may use to upgrade to C during your trip. Don't forget that all bmi flights, including former BMED routes, operate from T1, not T4. I imagine the service would be very similar to what you would have expected from BA. The BA lounge at T1 International is better than the BD lounge (which is due to be shut by 2009 during the Heathrow musical chairs...) but with your new gold status you could try both. No idea about EVN lounges or OLCI at either end but I hope you'll be able to contribute some info about your experiences in the Flying with bmi FAQ on your return. |

The old BMED J service was pretty good, and the improved cradle seats were comfortable and and ondemand entertainment excellent. I suppose that they will still be in place. The crew were generally pleasant and helpful. Not especially looking forward to the Y flight (under the company's 6 hour rule for J travel).........:( I shall certainly add some comments regarding my experiences on my return. Thanks again! |

Thanks ajamieson for the welcome and the helpful advice. I already have AC membership, so perhaps they would not want to status match an existing Star Alliance member?
