Priority on Standby..
Hi
Friday 2 weeks ago I missed my (last available!) connection to Belfast due to SAS late arrival. I was fairly pleased with the way I was treated, SAS got me a hotel and bmi put me on standby for the first flight on Saturday morning. The gentleman at gate 2 got me on the first flight ( and a business upgrade! :^) because of my silver status, but the girl (witch) beside him chirped in and said that the Y passengers should get priority. He overruled, and I got on. :D:D:D For my future reference who should technically win in this case. The Priority On-Standby Silver status or the fully flexible expensive ticket? Cheers |
Purely conjucture, and my own opinion, but I'd have to say,
Pax : DC Silver with Expensive Fully Flex Ticket Pax : DC Silver with non-Expensive Ticker Pax : Expensive Fully Flex Ticket Pax : non-Expensive Ticket ... |

I'm sure one of the stated benefits of *S is priority on standby. This is what status is really all about, right? Airport staff recognizing and going the extra mile for you when things go wrong.
I'd like to think that it's ordered first by status (*G, *S), and then fare type within those categories, should it come down to it. |
Priority on standby is not a published benefit of a Y ticket, so status should trump this every time.
