Anyone got the 250 miles for signing up and completing at least one survey by 30th June?

Thought not .....

G-BOAC Jul 4, 2007 2:57 am

I am still waiting for these 250...and the 500 AmEx MR transfer bonus ;)

sl1ppy Jul 4, 2007 3:48 am

Has one yesterday on broadband/telephony - managed to fully qualify for the 300 points!

jbfield Jul 4, 2007 6:06 am

A little fact that you may not be aware of but which *might* have a bearing on why e-rewards have yet to enable the redemption for BMI miles option.

Firstly, points earned during a certain year expire at the end of a e-rewards determined year. If you earn you 2000 miles or more this (e-rewards membership year) you will have to redeem them this year else they expire (although some posts indicate they sometime give you another years grace).

Secondly, although I can't see it mentioned in the terms and conditions, other threads suggest that when you make one redemption (minimum 2000 miles) you cannot make another until the next yearly quarter!

So in effect, not having the option to redeem the miles so far has reduced the redemption opportunities down to three quarters. Doesn't seem like they're going to enable redemptions any time soon so I'd imagine the most us new members will be able to redeem is 4000 points (should we reach that).

I think the reality might be if you earn 2000 points there is very little chance of you earning another 2000 before they expire!

Section 8 c

Following the end of the 30 day period, as set forth in Section 8.b. above, seventy-five percent (75%) of any unused EuroRewards Points remaining in a Member's account that were earned during the just-ended Membership Year will expire, and will be removed from the Member's account. The remaining twenty-five percent (25%) of the EuroRewards Points earned by the Member during the past Membership Year shall be automatically transferred into such Member's account balance for the next Membership Year

I don't even get the chance to earn points for saying whether I am male or female (I am).

Not impressed. :td:

ajamieson Jul 9, 2007 4:41 am

In fairness, it says "this e-Rewards invitation will be available only until a predetermined number of responses have been received" and "we encourage you to respond quickly". At least we now know that "quickly" means within two days...

Kevincm Jul 9, 2007 5:16 am

Well I got my first survey in a few weeks.. all for 50 points.

Joy

I've also had an invite to join the same programme with with AF/KLM.... Can I be bothtered twice is the big question :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I received that invite at about 7pm on Saturday 7th July. I went to it as soon as the email came in and I still got the same message!

Strangly I got another invite last night for a survey in $ instead of points?! May account balance has also change to US$ instead of points to...was 1850 points but is now $18.50...

Yes, I got one last night in $ instead of points too. Oddly it was the same DVD one I got a few days earlier which was in points then - tried some different answers and got further in the survey but then became ineligible for apparently having the wrong aged children (although by then they'd already gotten a whole load of personal information from me - and for only 50 points! - oh well, it wasn't real information anyway).

....we must reserve the right to withhold EuroRewards Points if the responses are considered less than sincere
you must have failed the sincerity test. ;)

jbfield Jul 9, 2007 6:49 am

Ahh, well I obviously got there before you and did select the right answers.
I said that I bought one dvd in the last year and don't have any children. Apparently I'm supposed to get $5.00 for my trouble but it took ages to complete and it was VERY DULL! I wouldn't feel too hard done by if I were you - $5.00 is nothing considering the time I spent.

Once I get the DC miles I'll be out of there!

Mr H Jul 9, 2007 7:04 am

I got the one about pets. I lied that I had a cat and a dog (I thought that the survey had to be about either cats or dogs) and that I had bought pet food in the past three months. They kicked me out. I have no idea what the right answers were supposed to be.

Kevincm Jul 9, 2007 8:48 am

As it was Pets survey was a "Quick survey", you only get a few points for it... there's no wrong or right to maximise points.

No meaty ones for some time though :(

Equivalent to precisely 1.25 bmi miles. Don't spend them all at once.

Woohoo! :D And they say you can't get something for nowt ;)

All I have to do is wait for them to enable the spend spend spend button :D

(Yes I know you have to have 2000 to 500 Destination miles....) ;)

Kevincm Jul 16, 2007 3:23 am

250 mile bonus should be coming through!

Just checked my dc account this morning and this entry appeared:

date code activity dest mem
10/07/2007 EE e-Rewards - Miles Transfer 250 0

Oh my ... we have initial payouts :o

No way to convert e-reward points to DC miles thou - yet....

Raffles Jul 16, 2007 3:28 am

I've got my 250 miles too!

That only leaves the Amex '500 bonus points for making a Membership Rewards transfer' bonus still outstanding ....

Dang.. I knew I forgot to sign up for something. Oh well. An extra 250 never hurts :)

RAPC Jul 16, 2007 4:06 am

2 out of 3 accounts have come through with the 250 - only the sister-in-law is missing out on the windfall, but then again she may have missed the initial bonus deadline.

250 miles better than nothing though.

More Champagne Sir? Jul 16, 2007 5:20 am

250 miles for me too!

Every little helps....

I sent an email to e-rewards the other day asking about when the DC awards would be available - response was:

"Thanks for contacting E-Rewards. I apologize for the confusion. The Diamond Club reward is temporarily out of stock and we are unaware of when they will be available"

Don't know what they mean about the confusion. I was never confused.

Oxon Flyer Jul 16, 2007 8:54 am

Back on topic, the 250 miles introductory bonus, is, of course, very welcome, but otherwise e-rewards, and whoever at bmi diamond club is responsible for this whole pantomime, gets a definite :td::td:

Seems like I've given away lots of personal information, and filled out endless surveys, yet I've accumulated only 1,765 e-rewards points, worth exactly zilch at redemption rates with a 2,000 threshhold, and the e-mails bringing further surveys have dried up completely. Maybe others have more positive experiences ?

Yep, agreed. Although I don't believe there is anything cynical behind the lack of surveys now that many of us have approached the 2,000 mark, I do believe that this has been set up very poorly between e-rewards and BMI. I suspect that the blame probably lies at e-rewards, but BMI should really try to get this sorted as it is reflecting badly upon them as well.

sl1ppy Jul 16, 2007 1:30 pm

Well I'm (just) over the 2000 worthless points - there will be no more survey filling until e-rewards/bmi come up with a conversion

Oxon Flyer Aug 2, 2007 2:10 am

e-rewards -> bmi is now active

Well, I stopped by the e-rewards site this morning and lo and behold the link to redeem e-rewards for bmi miles is now active.

First attempt ended in failure : error "bmi account number must be 7 digits long" so I removed the status digit from the beginning and tried again : success.

Now its "Your diamond club account will be credited with 500 destinations miles within 3-4 weeks", so watch this space.

No further opportunities to earn any more points have come my way in the last 6 weeks.

schofs Aug 2, 2007 2:27 am

Have also redeemed (dropping the status digit)... Got confirmation email through... let's see what happens.

Kevincm Aug 2, 2007 3:56 am

I've also managed to redeem for 500 lovely miles (by dropping status digit)

Well it only took them a few month for them to get the systems working - now lets see how long (if ever) they credit to our accounts.....

I've still got another 1300 points... so i'm just hoping for anohter big survey to credit it against.... :D

I'm down to 225... And haven't seen a survey in weeks. And there was me worried that putting "Up to 10 a week" or whatever was going to flood my inbox!!!!

Last I had was another quick survey.. but yes I agree - I signed up for 10 a week... and I'm still awaiting the Tsunami of surveys.

Then again it is summer ... so maybe the survey designers are all on holiday :p....

cmcbugg Aug 2, 2007 4:19 am

I'm 25 points short of 2000 - and haven't had a survey in weeks either - hope I get another one some time otherwise all that time would have been a complete waste.

RAPC Aug 2, 2007 4:49 am

Stuck a couple of hundred shy of 2,000 at the moment, with only the odd survey now and then, so I may be waiting a while.

A family friend who we got to sign up for Diamond Club and e-rewards on the other hand is snowed under with survey requests from them. It appears that 22 year old women who like shopping and chart music are just the sort of person they want to speak to!

jjjohn Aug 5, 2007 2:40 am

Just exchanged mine. Will report here when it credits to my account!

RAPC Aug 5, 2007 5:34 am

I've just realised why I was getting so few surveys, I had rather honestly put my job down as marketing and advertising. That basically excludes you from being considered for a lot of surveys. D'oh.

A quick change to an associated industry and voila, a new survey came through.

Raffles Aug 5, 2007 9:23 am

Similarly, in a desperate attempt to get from my existing 1,200 points to 2,000 and therefore be shot of this thing for good, I have made major changes to my profile! Gone is the warehouse-living, high earning, City whizz kid and in comes Mr Average with this middle-management job and Daily Mail-type habits! Let's see if this improves things or not!

I've done that and it hasn't made any difference to me in the last four weeks. Not one survey. In fact I've had four in total since the start and my total points is 1255.
