Just had this email:

All details will be revealed shortly, including the official date when you can start earning miles on bmibaby flights.

Interesting to see how they do this with regards to miles earning and lounge access etc. but overall goods news.

This also strengthens the case for the rebranding mentioned in other threads with baby being brought into mainline ops perhaps.

I get the feeling that something kinda big is brewing at Donington Hall ...

Anyhow this another good move from bmi, its getting to be quite a habbit.

Miles will probably be earned at the x0.25 level i.e. 150 miles per sector domestic and 200 for European flights.

Notice the fact that status miles are not mentioned.

Indeed. You can alreay burn on Baby so the only change (if it were not to status earning) would be to earning Destination Miles. If so, big whoop.

I rather like bmibaby, a few miles added is more than welcome. It would be nice if the MBNA bonus miles were extended to include purchases made on the baby site.

Didn't there used to be lounge access originally, circa. 2003 AD, but then it got taken away at a later date?

Yup, but of course this was limited to locations with BD-owned lounges. So, not much good on the likes of PIK-CWL...

Dare one hope this is the first step towards reintegration into mainline?

You have been able to spend on WW, but until now the was no earning. The e-mail says full airline partner, so that implies a QR/VS type relationship i.e. no status earning?

God shows you how out of touch I am with ''British Midland's'' longhaul product!!! I didnt even know you had to pay for drinks!! The idea of showing your Gold Card to get free drinks is a good one though. I havnt flown BD longhaul for 3 years. I always use UA in C class for USA now.
