Last Tango on Buenos Aires ( in February )

I was considering Buenos Aires 01 Feb for one week, but even possibly Santiago.
I've a chunk of BMI mileage which I've never used and I have heard that there are some favourable options for miles + money for a business class option. I'm worried that availability might be poor.
Your suggestions welcome.

Hmm yes award seats can be tricky on this route, I'm still holding out for paid A to open up on GRU-ZRH.

If you can find availability, suggest the following:

LX LHR-ZRH-SCL
Explore Chile
AC SCL-EZE
Stay for < 24 hrs and then pick up LH EZE-GRU the following day, connecting on to LX GRU-ZRH-LHR (or LH via FRA if you fancy the idea of trying out the F terminal).

Let me know if you need any more tips on Chile or Buenos Aires.

There's Swiss, TAP, Lufthansa, Air Canada, and United for options to get the harder segment to South America (e.g., North America-South America, Europe-South America). Availability is best on TAP (Portugal).

Routings via:

via YYZ to EZE
via GRU to EZE
via IAD to EZE

Since Varig went as a redemption option with BMI miles, things have become much tougher, especially as intra-South America connections have dried up or require some longer transits/stopovers.

Thanks for your reply. As for Buenos Aires, is it still true you can eat out in style for little money? thanks

Yes .... but prices have risen a good amount compared to three years ago. But they are still much better value in USD or GBP terms than they were in 1999-2001.
