I'm a serial poster on a ton of forums today, just having one of thos etear your hair out days I guess. Anyway, booked MAN-ORD on the UA site. It lets me chooss seats, so I pick 28, the onyl exit row with free seating. 24 hours later, I get the confirmation, and my seats have disappeared. I call UA, they say call BMI, etc etc for about an hour. Eventually BMI relent, and give me 23 and 24 C for there/back. The agent told me that she could put me in 28, but it would be at my risk as if anyone with greater status than me wanted it I would be booted off the flight completely.
