MAN - ORD 13/09/06 Delay and LHR - BOM Flight Cancelled to use aircraft for ORD

In the lounge at present waiting to board this flight. Delayed at present by at least two hours.

Lady in the lounge informed us that the aircraft may well go technical. However the flight won't be cancelled as they have already cancelled the Mumbai flight today and will use this aircraft if needed. Aircraft needs to be repositioned and will come from LHR.

Doesn't sound like a good day for bmi - the perils of having a longhaul strategy with the minimum of aircraft.

No doubt the one that has gone tech again is Bravo Delta (G-WWBD) in Star Alliance C/S. It was Bravo Delta that was tech in LAS for 3 days the other week!

Not a good aircraft to market *A eh!

This one is bmi colors. Anyhow we have just been told the aircraft will fly at 1.20pm so a 2 hour and 15 minute delay.

Seems the maintenance overhaul earlier this year in Manilla for these A330's didnt do them all that many favours. Can anyone in bmi or anybody with inside information share what these tech problems are? Seems to be happening alot more than they used to.

Looks like they’ve straightened things out a bit….

BD0705 EGCC-KORD DEP 13:42L [13th] ETA 15:34L [13th]

BD0781 EGLL-VABB DEP 13:05L [13th] ETA 02:32L [14th]

G-WWBD is parked on the west apron at MAN now. Monarch Engineering looked to be busy once again.

If anyone's interested, 'BD & 'BM are the two MAN aircraft at present. 'BB is ex LHR.
