LBA-LHR on E145

am booked on BD411 on sunday morning LBA_LHR and its shown as a EMB145, this is operated by BMI regional so do i get breakfast and free coffee :) ?

As the flight involves LHR I think bmi class it as a Mainline route.

I just noticed that some LHR-AMS flights are also scheduled to operate with the EMB145 (BD111 on 20 May). I do wonder if the amount of pax booking BMI has taken such a dramatic tumble that they do not even need A319s any more  It is on a Saturday afternoon flight though, and all surrounding BA and KL flights are wide open.

BD have been operating a few weekend European flights from Heathrow with the E145 for a couple of years now, as part of complex aircraft diagrams down from Manchester or Leeds, out to the continent, then return. Yes, Saturday afternoon/Sunday morning loads on such routes often only justify such capacity.

They send the Airbusses off to do more profitable charter work.

And they've had the 145 on a MAN-LHR shuttle this week! One way to get the load factor up, I suppose.

so if im travelling with a laptop and small carry on will i be able to take them both on the aircraft? i heard they are very strict about checking hand luggage at the aircraft steps.

As long as they are small. But you'll have the option of gate-checking a bag for collecting at the steps, which is arguably more convenient than having to stow a bag in a tiny plane. Do bear in mind that the lockers are only on one side of the place and are very small.

indeed so. most roll ons won't fit. I flew EDi-CPH this week on a 145. upgraded to biz class with gold card voucher just for the hot brekkie (7am flight). I was the only one in this part of the cabin (of 18 seats!) - no wonder when the quoted price started at £450
