Quick-reference to new fare types
Not sure if you guys know, but the BMI changes have been discussed a lot quite recently in several threads on V-flyer.
One of the members has compiled the complete (official) listing of the new fare structure into a neat little table. Not only is it handy, it also makes shocking reading... |
It would be shocking if half of it were true. I spotted five errors in the first fifteen seconds.
1. You can use telephone check-in on all fares 2. You can get seat assignment using this method, without charge 3. You can always use ticket desks for check-in 4. Priority disembarkation...nothing to do with fare (or indeed cabin on remote stands) 5. Seating priority...well the unofficial seat block still exists for Golds, IME... Good effort, though...;) |
Hi Alistair,
I'm the one that put it together, and it has come directly from the brochure that BMI dished out recently to TA's and corporates. I can send you a scan of the document if you want! Thanks, Richard |
Ah, forgive me. My frustration is with the nonsense from BD, not with your attempts to make sense of it all ;) Their 'changes in the air' leaflet is equally confusing.
One category on the table I just don't understand: Priority disembarkation on BD short-haul has always been a case of 'whoever is nearest to the door gets out first'. Same for BA domestic, too. |
Ahh - well the table is the one from the back page of the 'changes in the air' brochure. Unless they have different versions which is a distinct possibility knowing BD now....
As for the priority disembarkation, well taht ties in with the seating priority benefit - the people on Premium Economy fares will be at the front, the standards in the middle and the tiny's in stowage.... Thanks, Richard |
Richard,
Good effort, but bmi got there first! :p http://www.bmipromotions.com/changes/details.asp?bhcp=1 |
Ahh good find Nick - funny they haven't sent that link round in their silly mailshots yet!
I think I can pull the link now from my poor server and refer to that official version! Thanks, Richard |
So confirmation then that Tiny fares will earn miles up to 31 Oct.

And as for Priority baggage, it does not work, certainly on the A321,priority bags never come out first on busy Dub-LHR route, and at Heathrow end it is always 20 mins at least after landing before bags come out. |

For the bust flights we just need to send the first busses on a longer route round the airfield ;-) |

I'm rather enjoying the extra space in the lounges and aircraft since bmi went modular. 51 pax on an A321 flight that used to be more-or-less full. |
Hmmm...no through check in on tiny fares. Yet they let you book it on the one PNR, and their helpline says you can through check-in..interesting...
|
Bmi also have a pretty version of the how the changes stack up for their new customers who can't read tables ;)

Is there an up to date link showing earnings by booking code (G, T, N, M etc)? Thanks.
