Isn't there a story about a Monarch flight in LAS that was left with no catering so the pilot got Pizza hut to deliver enough beautiful beautiful pizza for all 300 odd on board? Or did I dream that

BA should give it a go, it might catch on!

Today could have been bmi's big opportunity. No doubt some would-be BA passengers will travel on bmi where the two airlines complete. Today could have bmi's chance to shine and show that it was a serious competitor to BA, and maybe even change a few people's travel preferences. Sadly however, its ironic that the BA problems happened just after bmi introduced their hopeless modular concept, as I suspect that any BA regular who does try bmi today will be sufficiently discouraged that they'll go straight back to BA when the problems are over.

Indeed - I was feeling rather lucky that I had booked BD for my AMS-LHR this evening rather than BA, just because I needed a one-way and the miles were enough to get me *G until 2007.

But I'm actually dreading to see what's happened to bmi!
