Thoughts on BD, not DC

Ok I have some flights in 2 weeks which would let me renew my Gold status on DC until 2007. Conversely I could renew my SEN status with a MR and forget about DC.

There are so many threads about the changes to BD it is hard to sort out. What are your thoughts on BD sticking around? My contact at BD says they are doing fine and not to worry... she is not thrilled with the changes but believes at the end of the day BD will still be here to serve its customers.

I love the DC program, far better than M&M.

So FY wizards, what are you thoughts?

Apologies if this is in another thread... there were so many I couldn't figure out which one it was.

I don't think BMI is about to go out of business or anything like that. What I can see (but do not want to see!) is DC being reined in further (i.e. you earn less miles for flights etc, and possibly more miles required for flights).

I don't believe that DC *G means anything to bmi anymore. I think they will be forced to retrench by *A to allow *G customers into their lounges on any fare basis, but refuse entry to their own, just like UA and the RCC.

Unless you need the upgrade vouchers, I'd go for SEN. You'll still have a silver card to open the lounge doors, which your SEN gets you into.

I've just made BD*G for another year, whilst resting my SEN miles for a year. Next year I'll be looking at keeping SEN and stuffing BD, unless there's a change in attitude at the airline.

Hmmm... it is rewards from DC that I really like - the cash and miles is great (especially for premium cabins)
