Double Standards
Diamond Club tell me I get 0% miles if I book in W class with Thai Airways but Thai tell me I get 50% if I book in W class. I'm a pretty frequent flyer, but mostly flying economy. Seems more and more these days like a waste of time being with DC. :td:

Welcome to Flyertalk.
Not double standards but different schemes with different rules. If anything, I prefer different schemes to have different rules as this allows you to select the one that suits your needs best. The current trend towards (downward)harmonisation of earning across carriers is something that I do not welcome. For the time being, DC still suits my needs, notwithstanding the changes. But YMMV. |
I would blame TG as much as BD for this one. After all, each airline, even within an alliance, wants to give you a reason to fly with them, and use their FFP. FWIW, I agree that DC is going downhill. The proposed changes risk turning it into utter twatwaffle.

TG does give 50% on w class fare.

I wasn't totally convinced by the guy I spoke to at BMI or his supervisor (they always refer to a supervisor when I call, I must be trouble) so I sent an email to get the answer in writing. The answer is that the BMI website is wrong, the guy I spoke to and his supervisor are wrong, coz BMI DC give you %50 mileage when booking W with TG. Me happy now, me make booking :-)
They said in the email they would update website. That's nice. |
