Voluntary Offload Vouchers
Hello everyone,
We were on the BD590 last Friday and the flight before was cancelled so they were looking for Voluntary Offloads. They were offering £50 cash or £100 in vouchers so we did it because there weren't 2 C seats together left on our flight and it was only an extra hour.
They didn't need us in the end because they actually ran C-class as 3x3 (the lady at the gate actually made a good little speech about them believing that getting everyone home was more important than the seat configuration).
Anyway - I was wondering about the £100 vouchers they were offering - does anyone know if you can use them towards the "cash" bit of a miles+cash redemption? I'm just trying to find out which one to pick if they offer it again!
The only bad thing about volunteering is that they forgot to put our bag in the hold (3rd time in 2 months now - the luggage desk guy in Manchester actually remembered us!). They got it to us by courier by about 11pm, so not too bad...
Richard
P.S. Got to use the MAN self-checkin on Sunday for the 595, which worked great... except as sod's law would have it, there were 4 check-in desks open and not a single person waiting!

In a related question has anybody got anything back when they have run C class as a 3 and 3, I've had this happen a couple of times and never bothered to complain but if I've paid for more room then I should get more room....
(though I guess if this argument stacked up then the Fokkers would be even more of a bone of contention)

I haven't had this config for some time, probably 2 years now. I did have it happen on EDI and GLA at least twice each. The first time it happened I wrote to complain and got a £50 voucher for BD travel. On the following ocassions I simply called the DC and told them over the phone about the downgraded service and they sent them out.
Last time it happened was on an operational upgrade when the were using the European 737-200. On that one I managed to get them to change a non changeable ticket for free, i really didn't want to come back on the same plane!
