25% Bonus Points

Seems like I gripe about bmi a lot these days but here is a question for you:

How many people have had their 25% bonus destination miles added to their DC account for last month.

I had a r/t (1,200 miles each) GLA- LHR C fare on one day last month and I have just had this added to my DC account:

31/05/2003 BM MBN - LOY 300 0

So, looks like I am 300 miles short. Is anyone else waiting for miles ot post or had the wrong number of miles post ?

And whilst I am on....where are our 2,000 miles for filling out the "2,000 bonus miles" questionnaire ????

I think I got it. The following is showing in my account.

1MB - 1VB 2000 Destination miles

Saying that I'm not sure because this was previously a line showing my Visa card sign up bonus which was at 0 miles and then transformed into this.

I've been less than impressed with the migration - can't help thinking that the marketing guys said go when they weren't ready technically.

Edited to fix a problem with the html tags
And my speeling !

Yeah , I've got :

31/05/2003 BM MBN - LOY 900 0

which I assume is the bonus but like you it should be double as I did 3 x C domestic returns that month = 1800 miles

Also no sign of the 2000 registration miles.

Not sure that I ever got my 150 DC points for the Mastercard signup either but i can't check as they seem to have blocked the trick of checking more than 2 months in the past

Just checked my May miles on DC web site.....it shows 10 sectors between GLA and LHR (all C class), but only 1500 loyalty bonus miles - it should be 3,000. Strange that all who posted details have been short changed by 50% of the due bonus miles.

Also no sign of the 2,000 sign up miles.

Baffling.

May was a busy month for me:

Status and destination:

5614 BD (of which 900 still to post)
1686 UA

Destination only:

6000 Hilton
3000 BD ("Member get member" bonus)

Total 16300, yet I only got 1525 for my 25% bonus.

Not sure if all of the above are eligible for bonus purposes, but I think it should have been higher than it was.

O lurkers, hear our call....

Hmmm... My 800 LOY miles seem to bear absolutely no relation to any miles I've earned/flown in May (and don't forget we're owed 25% for the flights we took post 28-April after the changeover too)

And then there are the missing BAA Worldpoint conversions (aka Black Hole) and Double Int'l Miles for *A survey completion. However, I'm sure that the 2,000 sign up bonus is only due to be credited at end of June.

Methinks all these changes and promos, together with the prospect of job cuts, is all getting a bit too much for DC HQ...

My Bonus Points were calculated on the Base points earned on each flight (600 for Domestic and 800 for Europe) and took no account of the multipliers for Fully Economy or Business Class flights !

Still no sign of the 2K bonus

Actually I think I might understand this - (helped also by looking back at other posts).

The key phrase is that the 25% bonus is based on "miles flown" with BD and all *A and other partners. Hotels, referral bonuses etc. not included.

For "miles flown" we need to substitute "base miles" (i.e. applying the minimum 600 / 800 mile limit)

So my May totals for miles flown were

UA 1686
BD 4414

Total 6100

[email protected]% = 1525

What was throwing it off was the fact that there was a "full economy" UK internal in there - "miles flown" the minimum 600, but earning 900 miles.

So the sums seem to work.

Except for the fact that I had another late-posting UK internal, which is currently sitting at zero but will go to 900 "once the data process has run".

I'll be interested to see if the system twigs that this flight hasn't been counted for the bonus, and if it will add on another 150 (25% * 600) automatically.

This is the conclusion I came to and I had only 4 Flights in May.

Suddenly the Bonus isn't as generous as first appears

Except if you're on cheapo web tickets, in which case it doubles your mileage. (Can anyone confirm?)
