BAA Worldcard redemption

I've been trying to get some clarification on the redemption ratio for BAA Worldcard Visa points to DC. I've mailed DC but they simply don't respond. Today I did receive this interesting reply from BAA:

"Dear Mr Harris
Thank you for your email re bmi redemptions.
I can confirm that the bmi points programme is being revised however we are
still in negotiations as to what this switch means for our customers. Once
I receive confirmation from bmi I will feed this back to you. I am hoping
I will be able to respond in more detail to your email tomorrow.
Thank you for your patience

Regards

Michelle D'vaz
Marketing Manager
BAA plc"

It is interesting that BMI revise their programme before finalising negotiations with partners!!

Ditto me....

Interesting that the email Richard has is from the Marketing Manager - surely she should know ?

IIRC, some members were going to transfer BAA points to bmi last week - any idea what they have posted at guys ?

I think this is good news. Here's a further e-mail from BAA, which I received today:

"Dear Mr Harris
Following my email yesterday the following announcement is being made to
all WorldCard customers re the new bmi redemptions.

Great news ? bmi have relaunched their diamond club frequent flyer
programme and created a generous new awards structure based on their new
mileage system! To celebrate the launch of bmi's new destinations miles we
are running a DOUBLE MILES promotion, awarding 1,500 destinations miles for
every 500 WorldPoints exchanged before 31 May 2003. For more details visit
www.baa.com/worldpoints

Should you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to
contact me.

Kind regards

Michelle D'vaz
Marketing Manager"

So after the promotional period (which essentially maintains the current ratio) 500 Worldpoint cards will equal 750 DC miles - a ratio of 1:1.5 (not 1:1 as previously discussed) - this is the same as the standard BMI MBNA credit card.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!

Just transfered 11,000 BAA points about two weeks ago.....

At least the rate of 1 BAA to 1.5 bmi is OK

I wish they'd make their minds up. When I heard it was 1=1mile, I went back to using my Halifax 1%-cashback card. So I should now stick with BAA until the end of May, huh?
