On time performance?

A friend recently had a horrible experience due to late flights. First, he was flying from Paris to Edinburgh via LHR. First flight was an hour late, but people at customs called the Ediburgh gate to hold plane. He ran all the way, only to have the doors shut seconds before he arrived, while the aircraft sat at the gate another 10 minutes. Return flight to LHR also an hour late and almost missed his UA connection. Is this typical?

this is typical ... for my connections with UA in the US ... or with LH and connections in FRA ... or with XY in NNN ...

where is Paradise for ff?

I always work on the principal that an hour late is actually on-time for any of the European Hubs.

I just hate to rush http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

BD Flights on EDI-LHR are normally quite reliable. Problems occur when LHR gets busy and ATC make then sit on stand at EDI. If this happens a few times during the day then the knock-on effect occurs.
