The final bmi Do - Saturday Sept. 7th, 2013

Ok, here's the big announcement /snig gers uncontrollably/

Saturday September 7th

Sat. 3pm Tour of East Midlands Aeropark

Sat. 5pm Go for a pint in The Nag's Head http://goo.gl/maps/kmeKb

Sat 7pm Dinner in Gandhi Indian Restaurant - food is good. There will be the presentation of the FT Special Achievement Award to Joanna (aka diamond club) on behalf of the whole DC team. At present we have about 8-10 DC staff confirmed for the event including someone who signs her name like an 8 year old. All this in addition to ourselves.

Sat. later: we'll we're working on that but it may involve entirely desiccating the residents' bar of the Hilton EMA.

PLEASE CONFIRM YOUR ATTENDANCE AS WE NEED TO FINALISE THE NUMBERS FOR THE TABLE BOOKINGS.

Kevincm - would you mind taking some 'suitable for work' photos?

Thanks all!

Any self-respecting forum (ex-)regulars should know when this big event will take place without being reminded.
We have now been reminded.

I'll be there - only question is how to get there..... I could easily drive, but worried about the consequences of the journey home the following morning after the night before. I suspect my blood alcohol level may be slightly raised.

Anyone else planning on using the train so we can share the odd cab? are there any drivers who will be teetotal for the event? I am staying in the Hilton.

I'm thinking of driving as I can't stand those single-carriage trains between Crewe and Derby. I may be able to pick up two or three people coming by train if they don't mind sitting in a small car at Derby or East Midlands Parkway around 2pm and 2.30pm respectively. I'll be staying at the Hilton.

hmm... MUC-BHX is around 270 now... stupid Monarch decided to suspend service and LH is extracting their pound of flesh
SQ is 163 to MAN with a 6.35am departure

Even BM from BRS to MUC wants 368GBP...! Oneway!!

MUC-FRA-BHX on LH is actually cheaper than MUC-BHX and lets you join the afternoon activities. Or how about 2,095.76 to MAN on SQ in F or 773.26 in C.

Not sure if it will work according to what you posted.

Valid for travel from 5 October 2013 to 20 December 2013.
Offer is valid on all UK domestic routes.
In any case the Do is at EMA and not BRS.

Ahh sorry, for some reason I mis-read your post as MUC-BRS-EMA, which I'm not sure exists in any case.

I'd be very interested in this. Would appear that the trip to East Midlands Parkway is cheaper/quicker and has less waiting around so have booked the following on Saturday in first class if anyone else is coming from London:
London St Pancras Intl - East Midlands Parkway
12:25 - 13:52

Return on Sunday 8th
East Midlands Parkway - London St Pancras Int
10:44 - 12:41

On Google satellite map East Midlands Parkway is literally in the shadow of Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station if it actually exists! But Google Street View gives us some hope.

If you don't mind waiting a little I'll be happy to come to East Midlands Parkway some time between 14:15 and 14:30.

Very frustratingly, I'm no longer going to be able to make it. I hope you all have a fantastic evening, and I very much look forward to hearing all the stories and seeing the photos.

Warm wishes to you all
