Why did I close my account?!
 

Long story short... I closed my diamond club account in December (after transferring miles to BAEC) thinking I couldn't use it any more.

I still have my BMI MBNA cards which expire 08/14 and I now realise by reading the posts on here that I could have carried on earning miles this way.

I've just been on to www.diamondclub.org to try and open a new account but it directs me to the BAEC form.

I've also clicked on the 'contact us' form but I cannot submit the form because it won't accept my (closed) account number and email address which are mandatory fields.

Any ideas how I can get an account back to start earning miles or have I got to accept my mistake and move on (...to a card earning less miles?!)

Give MBNA a call and ask them where they have been depositing your points and how you can retrieve them.

I haven't used the MBNA cards since closing the account so there should be no points to retrieve.
Obviously I want to start using the cards again but not sure how I can without a diamond club account.

Just put a transaction through the card and then you'll have reason to call them. Nothing ventured nothing gained.
