LHR T1 arrivals lounge?

We'll be arriving at LHR T1 on SA236 at 07:20 in biz. We are both M+M Gold (LH Senator).

In the past, we used the BD (not *A) arrivals lounge as DC Gold.

So much has changed. Is the lounge still there, albeit under a different identity? Is there an alternative? (I know that AC arrivals lounge is only for those arriving at LHR T3.)

Thanks for your advice.

I thought SA and maybe UA also used the arrivals lounge, I'm not sure who owned the lounge but I've heard nothing about it on the BA forum so I don't think they've taken it over.

Unless someone knows the answer let us know if it's still there and if it is what the access requirements are.

Not sure if this is the old BD lounge but it has been around for some time. From the SAA website:
London, Heathrow Arrivals Lounge

The Arrivals lounge is available to SAA Business Class and Voyager Lifetime Platinum & Platinum cardholders.
The lounge is accessed via a signed lift from the Arrivals Concourse in Terminal 1.
On offer is a light hot breakfast, Wi-Fi, clothes pressing service as well refreshing showers.
The entrance requirements for the London Arrivals lounges are as follows:
•SAA Business Class, Voyager Life Time Platinum & Platinum Card Holders, no guests are allowed.
Opening times are 0500-1400 daily.

Thanks, layz and gcuk. It certainly sounds like the former BD Arrivals Lounge.
We're arriving in SA biz. I'll take a print, just in case.

The link also shows info for the JNB SA Arrivals Lounge, available to qualifying SA passengers only, i.e. no *A. I knew about this and it confirms the info. No good for us as we're arriving in LX biz. No Priority Pass lounge either. Oh, well.

I don't think there was a seperate BD lounge as such, just the *A one, manned/operated by BD ground staff

It may have become that, especially as a result of the demise of BD.

When I used it, it was most definitely a BD lounge for l/h passengers arriving in BD biz. It was extended to similar SAA passengers (and later UA, I think). No access to gold cardholders travelling in economy or to other *A airlines' passengers then.

It's good to know that it's still there.

I used the T1 arrivals lounge this morning on my last () DC redemption arriving from South Africa.

Its name seems to be Arrivals Lounge (i.e. no *A branding) and possibly misleadingly, the direction signs refer to the lounges of SAA, UA and USAir but it's just the one lounge.

In my case with an SAA BP, entry was available to SA premium passengers and SA Voyager platinum members. No golds flying economy. I imagine similar restrictions apply to UA and US pax.

One wonders if the lounge's days might be numbered at this stage.
