Who will get the last "renewal pack"? Mine arrived today
I gather that DC is being wound up on 28 October. Obviously not through any communication from bmi, just from reading FT - so old traditions still remain.
Another old tradition also continues as out of the blue I have today received a membership renewal pack for bmi Diamond Club with a card valid through to 10/13 . All the usual selection of cards are contained in the normal little black box, letting me know all about the GBL in T1 etc. One card tells me all about the miles I can earn with over 25 airline partners, 8 hotel partners and Europcar. I am a bit puzzled though as to who these partners could be!
So if the lights go out on 28 October, mine is good for 16 days. Who will get the last pack? *
I am not sure that we should not open a poll or a betting book to guess the shortest lived renewal
I suppose being bmi we can expect them still to be issued in November?

well well....guess what dropped through my door yesterday......my DC renewal, with nice new shiny card, bagtags, Europcar vouchers et al
Expiry date on the card is Dec 13 and Dc is now obviously very familiar / informal, as it only has my first name
Good old bmi

Well, instead of a renewal pack (not that I was due one, I admit) yesterday I got the 'brush off' letter telling me that, apart from UK and South East Asia(I think.... I binned the letter), DC is closing. So, someone out there knows whats happening.

Slightly OT, but I think still pertinent:
Due to my excellent administrative gifts, I neglected to cancel/downgrade my BMIPlus Amex (yes, I know! I believe the medical term for this syndrome is "muppet"). A fortnight ago I received 2 lovely, shiny lounge passes, to use "when flying on a BMI flight", as a thank you for renewing. I look forward to using these in ... um ... err
