Nostalgia: What's the first thread that springs into your mind on this board

Given this forum is going the same way as BD and the number of posts here per day is very low how's about's everyone post a link to the first thread that comes into your mind when you think bmi forum.

For some reason for me it's this one. I think it's because this was just around the time I started flying bmi.

Even though I never experienced a bmi toastie myself (waits to be ejected by angry mob) it has to be this one

I'd been flying bmi (ex-MAN to ORD and IAD) before I discovered FlyerTalk and this forum. So the first thread that comes into my mind when I think of this forum has to be:

I'll try this one, seems to sum up most of the posters on here

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/bmi-d...king-c-ap.html

I only picked this one because the one that really came to my mind first has already been taken ...

As the cheese toastie thread is long taken, it has to be the classic alternative - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/bmi-d...sbmi-moan.html

Unfortunately it is http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/bmi-d...-m-agreed.html!

It became a nemesis as I tried to keep up on all threads a courtesy to the board, but hated reading this one as it drifted more and more into gossip and rumour built upon earlier hypothesis. Very much hated. I'd quite forgotten it. But now the memories are back. Thanks.

Endless inspiration, and not a small amount of jealousy:

This one:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/bmi-d...going-say.html

because unfortunately it's painfully true.

There's also the one that compared BA with BMI, using the analogy of the coupld from Keeping Up Appearences with a couple you met on holiday from, say Buxton (it wasn't Buxton, but I can't remember the place). This might have been a post in the thread I linked to, but I couldn't see it.

Like the poster above, I too miss the challenge of dealing with ICC. I knew that I could always pretty much get the flights I wanted (if Award Nexus had shown seats) if I tried hard enough. There isn't the same sense of challenge with BA, you just have to accept that they only have availability on one day of the month you want to fly.

I would second the successful redemption threads as that is the one thing I miss the most. It is a good reminder of how easy it was to get travel the world at the pointy end for relatively few miles.

And adapting the topic slightly, what is the most likely thing you were likely to see in a thread on the bmi forum? My initial responses for that would include:

Cheese Toasties
LOLcats
A random and often unrelated mention of Beirut. (Sorry BA6501! )
Dennis at the ICC and his Sudoku book
A bmi site IT mess up

Feel free to add more.

Thirded.. not least because I think this is how I heard about the FCT, and the Z2-Z8 trick - which led to our family's first (and probably only time ever!) in F... something I'll always be indebted to this forum for.
