If you are only looking to get a Star Alliance Gold status and have an address in China/Hong Kong that you can use, I would rather do the SAS Eurobonus match. I got the card and it is valid until 2014.

Is the aeroplan scheme officially the most complicated FF programme out there? I used to have status years back and it was quite simple - it's a bloody minefield now!

No. I think that United OnePass sorry Mileage Plus is even more complicated considering all the various upgrade instruments etc,

I think it'll be handy to have AC status while completing some redemption flights with them. So applied and got the error message .
I'd probably make the AC 10k miles / 5 segments each year with a suitable work TATL route, but not the other 40k miles to keep Gold.

Sending another request from a different ISP seems to have got through, or at least not sent the error message back.
Thought one had got through, but it just took a bit longer to tell me about the failure . Looking at the headers it seems to be in a loop - sending the mail back to a server that already saw it a few hops ago, goes through a few servers and goes around again until a server spots that it has now been through too many times and causes the failure .

If you need 5 agents, just add segments to your routing.
I.e. CDG YUL YOW YYC YEG YVR.

Just to give you an idea..
Aeroplan does not usually status match.
They're also very late in the game anyway...
Why would anyone want 7 months of a programme and fly AC when they can get over (in some cases) 18 months + when they can fly BA to Canada now and enjoy 1st class benefits.
If AC was serious, they would have matched and allowed people to compete a challenge to retain *G till 2014.
35K of *A flying is a lot for the remaining months of 2012.

Why? So that you can fly as an AC elite while crediting to another programme? Or in my case while completing redemptions on their metal.
