APD Question
Just a quick question re APD. If I book a C award MAN-FRA-ICN is the APD £24 or £150 ? I will be booking this as a one way award.
Thanks |
£150, I'm afraid. It would only be £24 if you had a stop >24 hours in FRA, but you can't do that on a Diamond Club award booking.

Thanks for the reply raikje, suspected it was the £150.00 :(

If you can get the seats and suitable connections or perhaps enjoy a Stopover
MAN-IST One Award Z1-Z2 IST-ICN Second Award Z2-Z8 Less DC Miles and Less Taxes |
... or book a cheap revenue ticket to FRA, and then take OZ from FRA to ICN (which is a rather elegant way to go - especially in First or Business)
Note you run the risk of mis-connect as you're not on one ticket, so build in time for connections. |
I took advantage of a fare error from CMB (you know, the famous CMB-SYD-JFK via Europe) a few years ago. To position myself I flew LHR-FRA (BA) then took the InterCity train with only a few mins to spare to get to DUS where I flew out a few hours later on Air Berlin to IST. From IST it was a 4hr flight to DXB on SIA. I then had around 5hrs in the UAE to transfer from DXB to AUH (mad taxi dash of about 100 miles - scared the wits out of me!) where I flew to CMB on Sri Lankan - all on separate tickets with one train and one taxi connection in between. I flew LHR-FRA/ DUS-IST-DXB/ AUH-CMB-SIN-SYD-MEL on 5 separate tickets with one train and one taxi transfer and all connections were under 5hrs.
Edit: And I only paid £10.00 APD. |
