T1 security, first thing on a Friday

I haven't been through at silly o'clock for some time, although seem to recall about 2yrs back heading to DUB and not having any real problems.

Just wanted to check..

1) Is there any change or will I be OK about 5.30am
2) What time does it open - all I could find were the opening hour for shops or the *A lounge

TIA

My experience is that 5:30 am all ok but an hour or so later it gets a little busier.

I have gone through a little before 0530 on the first BD flight of the day; no problems whatsoever. I believe the checkpoint is open all night with a skeleton staff.

I've been through security at 04.45-ish.

Depending on how you want to organise your morning:
  • Showers in both bmi and *A lounge usually work fine.
  • *A has sausages and bacon at that time. bmi doesn't (IME).

Thanks for this - a very good point. Perhaps I just roll out of bed, pull on some clothes & jump into a taxi, (hoping that we don't get held up en route & I have to sit festering for many hours thereafter....)

But is that the London Room or the GB Lounge? Passengers to DUB can't use the GB Lounge, which is apparently reserved for international passengers (Hi BMI, this is 1922 calling, can we please have our map back?)
