of course I don't mean just FC + CC. But I'm sure more people wanted to come ex-LHR.

Now they can't! Oh what a load of wasted money on BD's part.

On the contrary, I give them full marks for giving it a go.

64 pax shows it wasn't empty...

Looks like they waited to make the decision once they got half way.

Would these passengers still be entitled to earning mileage for that flight?

SgtRyan, I would expect you to be able to cancel your booking withour a fee now, (assuming the ICC get updated in a timely manner).

..and I wouldn't given he's not due to travel, per his OP, for at least another 10 days.

Ahh, I missed that bit. Still it probably worth another call to the ICC.

Egypt in 2 weeks?

We have booked an expensive trip with our granddaughter. If the tour operator cannot deliver the components we requested (Cairo musuem, Giza pyramids, luxury Nile cruise) is there any hope of a partial refund? Do I have any chargeback privileges through AMEX? Our travel insurance covers interruptions and delays, or terrorist attacks aimed at Americans. It all s eems to lame now.
And how would we know that the protests may calm down and rekindle? The stuff I see on the news is frightening. DO I just lose a big investment in a lifelong dream? Thanks for the suggestions.

When are you booked for?

Is it under UK or US travel operator regulations?

Is it an all-in package, or a set of separate components (flight+hotel+tours)?

Is there any BD connection, or is this the only thread discussing the situation that you could find?

slightly OT, I had been on a LHR-ESB night flight (when BD used to fly to ESB) which had 7 pax in total. There were 5 crew plus two in the cockpit- total load of 14 souls in the plane. I was told the return flight was going to be 80% full.
Maybe BD had several pax desperate to get out of CAI. I know a couple who cut short their holiday and came to MOW when the troubles got out of control.

I read on one of the news websites I think that the BMI flight had to turn around due to the change in curfew to 4pm meaning that the pax would not have been able to leave the airport.

I was in Egypt just over 12months ago. I spent a couple of days wandering Cairo by myself (white, female) and had no hassle at all. i actually got more hassle in Istanbul. Then I joined a group for a trip to Aswan, Abu simble, luxor, and the osases and white desert...simple amazing. Cairo is a crazy crazy place!

As there were fighter jets flying over Cairo and helicopters it's not surprisingly airlines aren't flying.
