bmi's lot kinda isn't helped by having a geographic reference other than "British" in the title. For example, "Air New Zealand South Island" sounds a bit, well, domestic.

I'm sure they'd love to lose "Midland" to make the name feel a bit less provincial....but I'm sure a certain OneWorld airline might not like that...

Personally, I can see the logic in introducing wording (especially as googling "bmi" just reminds me how fat I am...), but I really don't see the point of messing with the letters part of the logo - purely as the fleet will now look like it's not painted correctly....just as they were getting on top of it too.

What? They didn't incorporate the Lufthansa crane device in the logo?

I never knew it actually originally stood for "Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited" until I did some digging. A great fact for a Wednesday lunchtime!

Hmm.....how's about a rename to British And Regional, Middle-east + Yemen Airways perhaps.......... or something.....

Perhaps you meant to say, any major airlines that use 'International' without also mentioning that they're an airline in their name...airline, ...airlines, ...airways, ...air system.

Seems the old logo is already in use!

Take a look at this site:

http://www.bmitrailers.com/

or this one

http://www.bmi.com.bh/

Spookily close to the old Bmi one. I saw the trailer on the M25 with the logo on the back and had to take a double look - thought it was the German take over of our roads too

BMI Trailers has been in use for a while. I've seen them all over Ireland for a long time. I did a double-take the first time I saw it too!
