Systems down
I just called to check availability for some reward flights and was told the systems were down. Thought I may have got a lazy agent so I rang back and was told the same thing. The first agent (female) told me to call back after an hour and the second agent (male) told me to call back after 2 hours! Are they on lunch break in Pune at the moment or what? It's really annoying when you do all the research and have all your details ready only to be told "sorry, nothing we can do for you at the moment but thank you for calling bmi"! Hopefully LH can sort all of these problems out but that'll probably be when we're all transferred to M&M :(

Sometimes the systems do go down. The same can happen at LH/UA/US...name any Star Alliance airline of choice when it comes to making a redemption.
Annoying, but a fact of life and not worth the time and effort moaning about. Give them an hour or two and try again. |
I appreciate that but these things do seem to happen more often to bmi than other airlines. Very annoying but a fact of life I suppose. I'll keep trying :)

Yeah they were back up when I rang to confirm availability but had gone down again when I rang to book :(
Edit: Just rang back and the male agent told me to call again tomorrow. Grrrrrr!! |
Still down, I was also told to wait until tomorrow, I suspect it's just easier for them to say that rather than try again in an hour etc.

I agree it's easier for them. I'll keep trying until they close though. They don't get away from me that easily ;)

Doesn't look like they'll be back up before the ICC closes at 6 now :(. Guess I'll have to try again at 8am tomorrow.

Yeah I've officially given up on my plans for next weekend. I'm going to look into the same travel plan for a later weekend. It is really irritating though when you find suitable reward flights and then cannot book them because the systems are down.

Systems back up and everything back to normal; it took 12 minutes to make a simple change to a booking :D

Now it seems that the entire flybmi.com website is down. I'm trying to look at paid flights and it's so slow and very often times out. That's bmi time.........

All seems to be running smoothly again. I did manage to complete my redemption as the other parts of my trip had not increased in price significantly. Glad I got it worked out in the end :)

Systems apparently down just now, or maybe it's just the fact it's 7.45pm... My call got cut off after the automated message three times in a row though, so maybe the systems are actually being problematic. Shall try tomorrow morning, I guess.

Well I hope they get the systems sorted to change my DUB-LHR leg from waitlisted to confirmed. Incidentally, I had a very pleasant experience booking my reward with Anush. He was very helpful and knowledgable. Is the ICC actually improving or am I being lulled into a false sense of security? ;)
Edit: It seems like BD aren't the only ones to have IT problems. My father just rang More Than insurance (their call centre is also based in India coincidentally) and their systems are down. I take all of my criticisms of BD's IT back. Well some of them anyway ;) |
What's going on in the Indian CC? Whenever I call them this evening, they let the phone ring and hang up :eek: :mad:
