Any way to minimise taxes

Hoping someone can provide me with some advice regarding taxes levied on flights.

If I transfer through UK (LHR) on separate tickets, is there anyway to minimise taxes charged on the tickets?

for example, I arrive into UK from far east on a ticket provided by my employer, I then transfer immediately to US on a ticket I buy myself. Am I still liable for all taxes on the ticket to US?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Yes, unfortunately.

Yes. Cheaper option would be to get your employer to book you to another European city instead.
