Lounge Access

Can anyone advise if it is permissable to gain access to a BMI lougne if I am travelling with another airline. I am flying on a non-Star airline on an economy ticket, but was wondering if I can be cheeky and use my membership to get into a BMI lounge?

No. Remember that the principle of a loyalty programme is to reward your loyalty. If you choose to fly with another airline, why should BMI reward you?

Well, BA GC holders have open access, so obviously BA think they should reward their most loyal.

LH used to allow Senators into their lounges regardless of the airline travelled. Those days are well and truly gone.

But remember how easy it is to get Gold on BD vs. Gold on BA (especially if you do not Euro-cheat on BA)... Plus there are less and less BA lounges (CPH Lounge is now closed) and more restrictions (no access to GVA Lounge, if you are on a charter flight)...
