Will BD implement a new award redemption rate?

Well, we've seen the call centre talk to customers about forthcoming changes in the past and those changes became reality. I think pappa LH has had its thinking hat on...
My guess, on the basis of a considerable number of recent reports along the lines of "I can see X on ANA, but the ICC can't", only to be followed 24/48/72 hours later by those seats materialising, is that there will be a system much like Flying Blue uses for standard, flex and dump the crap availability - namely standard miles, if seats available, double miles for unlimited availability to Gold members and where a route is dying on its feet, reduced costs. It might even open up SQ seats.

With regard to redemption on partner airlines which themselves have no 3-tier pricing of award inventory, such pricing either doesn't apply or is just one big scam to rip off customers.

Strange question, strangely enough after you stripped out words from within my sentence when you attempted to quote me. Here is the full sentence I posted:
Where in this post of mine did I exclude such from ever being implemented? What I exclude is the idea of there being fairness-to-customers in doing so when the partner airlines themselves have no 3-tier pricing of award inventory.

With DL, it may still come to be albeit far more likely with the ATI JV carriers. I'm just waiting to see if DL-AF-KL push all of SkyTeam to go down that most customer-unfriendly of paths.

A few days ago after making an award reservation I asked the ICC agent (one the the more reliable ones) if the number of miles needed for redemptions was changing. The agent confirmed that a new award chart had been prepared but when pressed as to when in would come into effect they claimed not to know and would only state that it will be on the web site when it does.

If you need to change the dates on an existing award ticket, post the introduction of a new rate, will you be surcharged taking into consideration any new rate (increased presumably ), or are you protected and just charged the change fee ?
I can't remember what happened in such a case, the last time a rate change was introduced.

I think the only analogy we can safely draw was the change to 2.5xF - and they allowed changes within 1 year of the original booking date, IIRC.
It would be very odd for any comapny that operates a changes permitted policy to surcharge afterwards.

If indeed there is to be a change and it is a significant one, I do hope they provide some warning like they did with the 2.5* for F increase to allow us to get the redemptions in at current rates.

Cheer-up folks and look on the bright side . . . they have to rely on their IT departments to put the stuff on the web so it could be a long long while in coming!

On the realistic side, I would expect ICC would enforce new rules even if these wouldn't be on web site.

With the one thing keeping many people (well, at least me :P ) flying BD in preference to other airlines on the small number of routes they still fly I'd like to hope that they will not make it too harsh a change.
I'd be more than happy to pay more points for similar routes if;
This is on the key assumption that the following elements remain unchanged;
However, I really need to think more of booking my redemptions for the winter before anything is announced and you all snaffle the seats I want
I'd be more than happy to pay more points for similar routes if;
- I didn't have to pay a miles surcharge for European connections
- I could do 24hour stopovers in Europe
- I could redeeem on SQ's 77W and A380 routes
This is on the key assumption that the following elements remain unchanged;
- The miles and cash stays
- the one-way for 50% of the miles
- the cash element doesn't get hugely more expensive. (I think the cash element is reasonable when you consider many routes charge significant YQ surcharges more than equal to the cash amount.)
