diamond club online shopping / earning miles and US dollars

I was on the dc website, and noticed the link to online shopping where you can earn miles for linking through the dc website to a vendor.

I noticed that everything was denominated in british pounds. Does that prevent a US citizen, or buyer to use the program if they're paying in dollars? Any conversion that would still help earn miles through their shopping partners?

thx

Nothing to stop you at all.

However, the currency conversion fees that your credit card company will levvy on the transaction will probably negate the benefit in CPM terms.

That and most of the vendors are UK based. I guess Hilton.co.uk will be useful.

Good point, the currency conversion expense would not be worth it. Would love to see BMI show up under AMEX'S reward partners!! hint hint if anyone from BMI is watching!

No, for booking prepaid Hilton hotels for example, the charge is in local currency. Well worth using for hotels in your home country
