DC booking error message

Hello

I made a reward booking in Sept for EDI-LHR-IAD / ORD-LHR-EDI in business class travelling after 27 Jan and had my seats assigned.

I checked my booking on the BMI website a couple of minutes ago and it displays the following error message, which has me a bit concerned.

Would appreciate any insight into this.

The seat assignments are (were?):

EDI-LHR 2A / 2B (BD)
LHR - IAD 12A / 12B (UA)
ORD - LHR 7A / 7B (UA)
LHR - EDI 2A / 2B (BD)

---------

Errors - please review the following item(s):

* Some of your seat selections are not eligible for your itinerary. They will be cancelled. (4716)

I can think of two possible reasons....
  1. The EDI/LHR sectors are causing this due to the removal of the Business Class cabin. I suspect that it's a glitch that'll fix itself considering you're on a business class award ticket. It's already been confirmed that bookings in "I" class will still entitle you to a seat at the front in the new 'Flexible Economy" cabin, hence your 2A/B will be safe.

    or.....

  2. Your LHR-IAD is on United? and has changed from a 777 to a 767, which has no row 12.

suggest looking up your booking on CMT and/or the UA site, both of which will show you the seat maps and your own alloctaed seats.

I don't believe that is a new error. I've had it in the past with reward booking with LH flights. My assigned seats got deleted, and had to be reassigned by LH (although ICC can also do it, but they will deny they can, until you pursuade them to try). A rather annoying (and data deleting) bug on the bmi website.

I've done that (both on CMT and UA) and the seats show up OK.

Bit concerned that the seats will be de-allocated and we'll end up in the seats we don't want.
