Best Western Plus hotel Bologna in Mestre (Venice)
Has anybody stayed there recently?
Good reviews. Very convenient location for visiting Venice and Verona and for a morning departure from VCE. For sleeping only, so not bothered by the not-so-good neighbo(u)rhood and lack of amenities, only interested in general hotel quality (clean room, good shower, responsive staff, good breakfast - the "trivial" requirements).
Superior room (2 adults) for €136.50 in May before breakfast and city tax (with Rewards membership). Breakfast €5 pp. Sounds like a good deal for a spacious room (25 sqm = 269 sqft) in a 4* hotel with good reviews just 10 minutes from Venice.
Looking forward to hearing from people who have stayed there recently, thanks in advance.

Stayed here and loved it. Actually, a surprisingly good find. Very modern, light, Nordic design. Very good air conditioning in the summer. Right across from the Mestre rail station. But not noisy at all. The trains are slow and quiet, coming and going. But they're very frequent to/from Venice, and take five minutes into town. If there's anything not-so-great, it's that it's not in an ancient building, full of antiques in the middle of Venice ...an eminently fine trade-off, in our opinion. Oh, and a quite good enough continental breakfast.

Thanks Firewind for your reply, glad to hear it's a good find. Anything in the middle of Venice would be way outside of our budget and also much less convenient for our morning flight out of VCE. We are eagerly looking forward to our vacation in Italy.
